General
Samaná province has an incredible historical legacy, social, religious, cultural, culinary, musical and artistic legacy but it is very probably not its provinces, or the country, let alone foreign tourists know it because we have historically lacked the process and appropriate mechanisms to share and enrich the legacy of a comprehensive and objective.
The 2007 could be the year in which actors and key managers managed to combine efforts and share ideas with which to launch a successful and brighter future, under the vision to offer the most comprehensive destination country.
motors and brakes external circumstances (which might be called "miracles") such as building a new highway to the capital, the construction of international airport at El Catey, the beginning and expansion of cruise service and expansions in hospitality and tourism are very important factors. Similarly, the provincial heritage is tangible though passive in the presence of dozens of individuals and organizations have the manpower without which nothing would be accomplished. External circumstances and the human legacy are the main engines behind the launch, a part of social interest, monetary, cultural and government held by many individuals and numerous nonprofit organizations or nonprofit.
The main brake takeoff could be summarized as follows: first, the absence of an obvious history of success in art and craft in a move that has been transmitted to the four cardinal in the province, and second, the lack of funds and resources for the craftsman and artist local can focus more on their product (quality and diversity) that survive, third, the absence of a clear government or private viewing such necessities, fourth, the lack of synergy between actors and potential managers, what the disabled in the search the provincial or common good in the way they are just trying to get the most possible individual.
Both in the case of the "engines" as of "checks" there are many other factors that may be listed, so the above are simple generalizations.
Potential Samaná province is not poor or mixed culture or human potential. What has lacked is the system and appropriate process to enhance internal and external resources. If we can establish the appropriate system and process the province could well become the center's most prominent arts and crafts of the country and one of the largest in the Caribbean area.

If we can establish the appropriate system and process the province could well become the center's most prominent arts and crafts of the country and one of the largest in the Caribbean area.
Why? Because in any other region of the country and there has not existed before the confluence of historical, social, cultural, religious, culinary, craft, music represented by the rich and constant mix of cultures and ethnicities, all surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural environments that may have (bay, mountains, caves, springs, beaches, whales and, without exaggeration, a million other things).
is this dynamic mix, magical, elegant and unique which makes Samaná in a single provincial legacy within the national context and the Caribbean. Vision
Within five years, make the option Samaná most complete tourist country.
strategic factors supporting the vision
a) the diversity of natural beauty (ie, beaches, mountains, coasts),
b) a rich artistic heritage and traditional (ie, culinary, artistic, musical, craft, social, religious), and
c) choices available for domestic and international tourism (cultural festivals, sport routes, nature trails, hiking adventure, historical routes, traditional routes). Process
need to list what we have had in being able to recover what we have to improve it and what we need so that it can create.
And to list such things needed to bring to the table as many potential players and managers from the artisan to the storyteller, from the dancer to the cook, from the painter to the writer, from the political to the preacher; and in this quest we must create balance between the sexes, between ethnic aspects, including domestic and foreign forces, while avoiding at all costs boxing the "live" political operator and investor. Achieving
need a miracle, but we need a process, not a directive, so we need a process, not a trend, so we need a process and not rude.
Strategies for Process a) sponsor an initial event in early 2007 where players and managers come to light, expose their individual visions and ideas and produce a map of emerging realities;
b) Form a management group to help coordinate the diversity of existing initiatives (private and government) in order to outline the most appropriate process to voice, vote and visibility to the wealth of ideas and potential present;
c) To enrich and diversify the process with the resources (people and goods) that may exist in other related organizations, to avoid "reinventing the conference "to explore more of what is possible to learn from the experiences of others and other sites, and to help us maintain a clear vision of the ultimate goal (as it appears in the Vision).
Critical Path and Strategic Plan
Both the critical path as the strategic plan to develop must be the product of the process. Although I have my ideas, I refrain from sharing so you can be a real inclusive process as suggested above.
What FMG can contribute
Mahatma Gandhi Foundation is willing to participate (acting and gestures) in a variety of fronts and conditions. Lack of resources but we have a lot of encouragement and a great desire to Samaná becomes the most complete tourist destination in the Caribbean.
We offer to play an active paper within our means and to help promote all inclusive, progressive and open to the common goal. ( http://fundacionmahatmagandhi.com/ , http://terrenero.blogspot.com/
